My computer is way too slow.

A slow computer can be caused by a number of things, like a virus, corrupted files / programs, lack of space on your hard drive, running too many programs at once, and overheating. The solutions range from very simple, to very complicated, to unfixable.

First off, you might be running too many programs at once. Try closing some of them out during usage.

Second, check and see if your computer is hot. It it is, turn it off for a little while to let it cool off. Make sure you always turn off your computer when you are not using it to prevent overheating.

Bring your computer to Pitt Bull, and we'll try deleting files that you do not use to free up hard drive space. We will back everything up on a CD or thumb drive before removing a high volume of files. You might also be interested in adding hard drive space, which is something Pitt Bull would be happy to help you with.

We will also make sure your virus protection program is up to date and run a full system scan. We will make sure all threats are removed and tell you how to avoid another infection.

There are dozens of other reasons your computer could be running slow. Pitt Bull will work diligently to identify and fix the problem.

I think my computer has a virus.

My computer keeps freezing. Argh!

This particular problem is a bit more serious and needs a few diagnostic steps. In most cases, freezing is caused by spyware, we will make sure your anti-spyware program is up to date and will automatically update itself every day.

Next, we will update your drivers. When your computer cannot find an up-to-date driver, the CPU locks up.

Another option is to increase your virtual memory. This will help you get better use our of your computer's RAM.

Fixing a freezing computer can range from simple, to complex, to unfixable. Your best bet is to bring it to us to let us work our magic.

Odd noises are coming from my computer.

This is almost always solely a hardware issue. One of the parts in your computer might have become unhinged. Some wires might have gotten overheated and melted (yes, melted). An electrical problem can also cause some unpleasant high-pitched noises.

Pitt Bull will conduct an investigation and do some exploratory surgery. We will do whatever is necessary to find the problem and make the appropriate repairs to your machine.
